G'day folks,
while I have had the D3 since new, Aug 2007 MY08 I have done virtualy no off road with exception of a couple of beach runs on Stradbroke Is down to the "pin" and back.
Recently had a weekend away near Queen Mary Falls area in QLD and we decided to go for a drive along the Condamine River Rd which transverses the Cambanoora gorge towards Killarney.
There are 14 river crossings of the Condamine River and none proved a challenge to the D3. Deepest gave a bow wave just below bonnet when in off road height.
Stopped for a picnic along the way. Very enjoyable to do a little of what the Discos are designed to do!
cheers

I agree, its one of my favourite spots for a day trip to the falls and a little off roading. You must have got there after some recent rains, because I havenet seen it above wheel height for a LONG time.
Might have to go check it out again. :p

Locals at Cedar Spings Cafe where we were staying said there had been very heavy rains a few days before with the runoff making it's way down around when were there.
Good fun. Keen to find a few other little drives to explore now. :D:cool:

We went through in the P38 a couple of days after that rain. It moved a few rocks around on some of the crossings, so there was a good flow down it.
Lovely place for a day trip. We go there all the time since it's only about half an hour from home.
Lots of nice little drives around here, perfect for day or weekend trips from BrisVegas.

Do you know about the SEQ LR group on Facebook ?
Its a great bunch of mostly D4, some D3 owners (and at least one RRV) from around SEQ.
They are starting to organise trips. Last one into Bellthorpe NP was great fun. Not as many water crossings, but a good variety of ups, downs and sideway inclines :D
Next events are planned for Double Island and Coffs Harbour area.

Yep, it's a great place for a day trip.
That's where we went first weekend after getting the D4 and a couple of times since.
As mentioned, water not seen above centre of wheel.

Tried searchig everything I could think of in Facebook - no luck. Gotta say, though, the FB search system is bloody hopeless!
Can you give us the actual FB name of the group, please?:D

It certainly is a lovely spot through there for sure.
Will have a look over that FB group. Could be a bit of fun.
Put in a join group request.
