Defender Puma 110 swing away dual wheel carrier

Gday fellas.
As per the title, is there a quality manufacturer/ supplier of dual swing away wheel carriers in Oz?
I'm getting too old for carrying a spare on the roof rack.

Rijidij looks the goods......although a dual won't work for us as we need to open the back door from the inside. A single is in next years budget.

In all my travels.......I've never had to use the second spare....therefore seriously considering traveling with the one spare going forward.

Rigidij looks the Dux nutz, Regarding the carriage of second spare,..I did a heap of reading prior to doing our Cape Trip and I couldn't find a single report of someone needing the flexibility of two spares. I'm sure if you are intending on doing some really remote driving it's warranted but for most of us that's not the case
Like you I'll fit the Rijidij unit....

Tombie, your right, so it may be a toss up between carrying just a 6th tyre sans rim, or the dual set up. I'm planning some pretty remote travel with another vehicle, so just exploring options.

Rijidij one has the option of something else on the LH side instead of another spare, such as a 20L jerry can holder for water or fuel.
Gives you the flexibility to carry a spare if you really need to but have something else there normally (or nothing).

If your second spare is a steel rim ask about Rijidij the addaptor that's available.

Almost $3000 for the set up, and while I realise it's pure quality and looks to include a new bumper set up, I've decided it's not for me. I have plenty of fuel and water storage, so think I will just carry a spare 6th tyre without rim when the need arises. I know I'll curse when it comes time to change tyres in 45 deg heat, but with the quality BFG tyres, it's probably my best option.
Hate to say it but I need to rein in the spending at some time!

Ridjidij does looks the goods and its Aussie. I went Mantec on the Defender because I got a deal.
Re. two spares, we once had two rear flats at the same time on our previous D1 near Cooktown, so it can happen.
Rather than spending the cost of a carrier for a second spare I just carried a second spare on the roof rack. Got us across the Simpson fine without any flats and we had better uses for the money saved. How much is a bracket for securing a wheel and tyre to a roof rack nowdays - $50?

Yep. Pushed it up to balance on the rear spare and then over onto the rack. Hopefully it never gets used.
I would only do that on a really remote trip.
