We walked down to the Guy Fawkes River from Chaelundi campground for a 4 day walk and explore along the river last Sunday, but because of recent rain the river level had risen to a height which precluded us from proceeding.
Stayed put for a couple of days hoping the water would recede, which it did, but not enough. The walk back out is strenuous (at least for an old bugger like me) 3 hrs to do 4k's, rising 600 metres in that distance, some at around 1 in 5. Legs are still complaining.
