I have some questions please that don't seem to be covered fully in the manual unless I have missed them

Is there a full list of what each CCF setting does in a single document? I see some of them are answered in the FAQ on the website but cant seem to find all the details for each setting.

Today I tried to adjust the digital speedo to match the actual GPS correct speed without limited success, (its 5% out on mine)

So firstly I changed the KPH off-set (Default of 2km/h) along with the Speed scaling factor (default set at 3.5%) I got the vehicle to run at 80km per hour (GPS correct) with the cruise control set at 80km/h. Thats a win, however the Digital Speed reading was showing 84kph still even though the CC was set at 80kph (on perfect flat freeway section.) I tried adjust either on their own without any effect. During the last change the next run the Cruise Cruise said not operational. At this point i did a restore and the cruise control is still responding not operational.

I then went into the cruise control option and changed it from FITTED to ERROR and now the cruise control is working. I tried changing it back but the problem occurs again.

Any ideas?

There isn't a list per se, as there are updates all the time, so the list becomes outdated.

For anyone who doesn't like reading instructions, when you flash your IIDTool with new firmware, it's a good idea to to also update your app, then connect to IIDTool to update the app data. You don't want to find it non-functional when you need it off-road without an internet connection.

I tried to do this a little while ago and eventually sent off an email to GAP and the reply was you can't change the speedo reading. I left it at that. At least you know what the difference is in the readings and can drive accordingly.

This was the reply I found in my old emails.

Hi Rod

Unfortunately, adjusting the speedometer to be spot on for the whole speed range is not possible. In turn, the manufacturers have to follow guidelines with a tolerated error factor. I suggest consulting the following links for more details.

If you want to be more precise, try changing only one setting at a time only. Changing both will cancel their effect at some speed...

Yep, this is exactly what I have found. Looks like the only option is to change the rolling diameter circumference. Will do some more digging around.

Turns out there is NO documentation on the CCF settings and what they do for each setting.

Its said to be obvious, sometimes that true, but seems a bit odd that with all those settings that someone cant sit down for a day and simply document them. It would save lots of support questions i would have thought and confusion

Hi All,

My IID Tool from the group buy just arrived.

The fault codes description are somewhat cryptic and hard to know what its all means.

Is there a reference or website or where we can get more information as to what each fault code means, where the fault is located, and how to fix it?

Many Thanks

Google.

Actually this forum and also Disco3 would be the best sources of information because most (not all) faults have been seen before and required troubleshooting, particularly the codes starting with "P".
Google can also help with the more generic codes sometimes.
The workshop manual has every code listed by ECU. It runs to 200 (!!) pages and offers some basic troubleshooting info.
Usually the "U" codes are not significant, particularly if there's no other codes.

Cheers,
Scott

Hi Scott,

Many thanks

Do you know where or how I can obtain a paper and/or electronic D4 2.7 L Diesel workshop manual?

I can handle the 200 pages!! Maybe just!:D

https://www.davesitshop.com/emporium/discovery-4-2009-to-2012-manuals.html

.... and the 200 pages is just the fault codes. The complete manual is much larger than that.
