View Full Version : 2001 ABS/TC/Traction Failure Warnings

Just recently replaced the right hand front axle seal as it was leaking and after assembly the ABS/TC/Traction Failure warning lights started to appear.
Now I'm assuming it's the right hand front wheels sensor, so I've tried tapping it to make sure it's seated well but still no good.
Any suggestion appreciated
Paul

Have you got any diagnostic equipment? They all identify which sensor is the problem. You can also check and clean all of the sensors. Costs nothing abnd may fix the problem

I would check & clean your battery connections and make dead sure your battery is ok, improper voltage can cause all sorts of error messages to appear.
That would be my first check before looking elsewhere.
Hope that helps!
Cheers, Pete.

Yep had similar strange messages when the battery was on the way out. Changed it and like magic, they all disappeared !

Thanks Gents I will give the cleaning a go. So far Gary I've been lucky and managed since 09 without any diagnostic equipment, but the day will come.

I had a similar issue, turned out to be the sensor, not that expensive on ebay, easy to fit, I just got the cheapest one and extended the wire by soldering an extra bit into the middle, no problem in 2 years.
You might need a diagnostic to tell you which sensor, unless you're SURE it's the one you've disturbed.
Good luck, and of course check the cheap and free stuff first, but worse case isn't to painful

My 2001 did the same but with the added hand brake symbol turned out to be a weak accumulator

Problem fixed, cleaned the sensor pushed back into place and warnings gone.
Gary not too far from you I'm in Tuart Hill.
Thanks all for your advice.
Cheers Paul
