Hi folks,

Thanks for the great info you've shared here. I have a question that is very important if your off the beaten track.

I noticed that if the rear hatch is open the light is on. There doesn't seem to be a control for it. In my life I've been surprised by how long batteries can last and also how quickly they can be flattened.

I would hate to be unable to start my single battery vehicle because I'd left the tailgate up all day. Has anybody got real world experience of long period open tailgate?

Or alternatively does anyone know what wattage that bulb would be?

Also I felt a goose using the rear accessories plug to pump up tyres after a beach trip.... I had to keep opening and closing the driver door to get another three minutes worth. Any tips on that would be much appreciated. :)

G'day Walruslike,

That light in the rear cargo area will go out after 10min or so. When the wife and I go to the drive-in I usually pop the light out and unplug it. Cause if I open the door to grab a smoke the light comes back on for 10min. Which is annoying for the wife in laying in the back.

Also the power socket a the rear of the middle console between the front seats has constant power. Try pugging your pump into that one next time you need to run your compressor.

On the D4 if you hold in the interior light switch in the roof console for 5 seconds it will turn off the interior lights auto activation.
And then it can be reactivated by holding it in again for 5 seconds.
Not sure if the FL2 is the same but quite a lot of features are similar so could be worth trying.

I always leave the vehicle running while using the air compressor.
This keeps the voltage higher and the compressor runs better.

Cheers,
Scott

Thanks Scott. That's gold. When I get some time soon I'll try all these things and report back.
