After a LOT of er, crap, I have a 4.6 with a 4.6 fuel map, with a 4.6 MAF, with a 4.6 inlet.
After seeing the LTFT's maxed out at +25 while using the 4L ECM it was a huge comfort to see them both come down to low NEGATIVE single figures,,
So, if you have built a 4.6 Thor, and are using a 4L ECM I have some news for you,,,

Good Pedro. Nice. On the run to Toowoomba today I had my typical long term trims... Both very low single digits... 4 litre ECU still. Not sure what was going on with yours. Cheers

Be interesting to swap ECMs--
my last two sat at 25+
even the Dyno guy said its impossible for a 4L fuel map to run a 4.6 properly,,
and he's an EVO guy :D

I don't doubt you. I might be lucky. I will get the passenger to take a photo of the trim screen. I couldn't get such good fuel economy unless the fuel trim was sound. Likewise it runs cool which suggests mixture is good. No pinging at all unless not up to temp. Cheers

around those funnily enough,, :p
both negative too,, which I suppose makes sense, if the maps making more power it must be adding fuel, which makes it richer hence the negs,,,
maybe a coughdynoruncough soon,,
just to fix my LPG problem though--:whistling:

Mate it's odd. I think I will just leave the stock ECU and stock intake. I would need to send my ECU over to Mark because it's a manual. My spare is an auto. I think my economy, grunt and fuel trims mean I have got lucky (or the ECU is better able to cope with the bigger motor than people think. I Don't know).

Just as a comparison, one of the jobs I'm doing is rebuilding a 4.6 and fitting it to a 86 rrc along with diff lockers and a couple of other goodies , I'll be using the supplied old school wolf 3d programmable injection , should be done in a month or so ( has anyone used this combination) will ask the owner to let me know fuel consumption figures after run in and pass them on

The last engine I spent this much on had no electronics, ran twin 45's and paid no heed whatsoever to the ozone layer,,
theres an argument to be made about whether fuel efficiency or HP is a better way to judge how well an engine runs,,
I'm sure we all drive around people every day that think the go pedal has a bear trap on it,, that actually moving off after the light has turned green is against some regulation, oh, and my favourite,, putting their foot on the brake, travelling in a straight line, in a 100 kph zone, with no-one but me within 100 miles,,,,
and they all seem to have TD5 badges on the back:angel::wasntme:
