I totally LOVE this car!!!!

It is truly a high point of the day getting in it to drive to work, and the more I do the more I love it.

I find it difficult to convey my satisfaction of the quality and driveability of the L322 adequately.

I earboxed a friend on the ph for almost an hour last night on the reasons why he should upgrade to one... I'm a true tragic!!!

People don't comprehend it until they drive one. You should avoid driving a RRV tdv8. I'm sometimes guilty of driving like a sports car. The power and road traction is amazing considering its 2.7 tonne empty.

I have driven a few now and including a 4.4v8 td. Wow. Just wow.

Can't afford any of them so I'm safe...☺

Yep, I'm avoiding a 4.4. Out of my reach. I'm lucky to have what I've got.

Nothing wrong with the 3.6... :burnrubber:

Justin, you need to take a drive up to the top of Mt. Wellington and open up your lungs and shout it to the world, then others will hear ya brother.
Instead of "I bought a Jeep", shout "I own a Range Rover!"
Cheers,
Mario

I hopped into my D2 yesterday and took it for a spin, if felt like a small truck, it was a different driving experience. Where before I thought the D2s were car like driving compared to other 4wds.

OK, OK Justin ... I get the message
Hope something can be done about a bull bar, as I'd feel very exposed without the extra protection.
Questions:
Rear wheel carrier? any solution?
Some 2004 seem to have a radio/CD, others seem to have a screen based entertainment centre?
HSE or Vogue .. differences?

There is no off the shelf wheel carrier. I did start to design a wheel carrier that temporarily attached to the tow receiver and frame. Indicators would plug into the trailer socket. Something that could be fitted and removed fairly quickly. But since getting a camper I just put the extra wheel on that.

The facelift L322 from late 2005 should have the larger info screen. The earlier editions also had the smaller screen which was the lower spec. I think the Vogue badging began on L322 when JLR released the Sport in 2005.

Michael, if you want that stuff you just get a D3 or D4. Still a very similar incredible driving experience, just not quite as perfect as a Vogue. No comparison with a TDI300 Classic though!! Don't drive one unless you can afford to upgrade!

I know what you mean JC.

When I first got mine off spdboy and began the journey home to Sydney,I thought "what the hell have I done."

But the drive was effortless and I was as fresh as a daisy after 12 hours behind the wheel.

The only bummer was the gearbox, didnt take too long to feel the telltale signs,so I gave Rhys a call to fix it for me.

Its all good now tho.:D

Went for a drive today through Dandenong, pulled up at a few sets of lights and sat there, I had to look at the Tacho to confirm the engine was indeed still running , it's soooooo smooth. and QUIET, Transmission is like silk also. So far so good.:)
