You can get a nice strong alloy in Australia for the same price. [emoji6]

No need to make a D3/4 look like A Toyota [emoji13]

I wonder if they fit the larger brakes?

I'd like to know where you get alloys for a D4 for $200.

Mind sharing with the rest of us your back of the truck :wasntme:

I think its good to have another option for D4 owners that dont see the value of paying close to $3500(not including tyres) to reshoe their car.

FYI, this is not a paid advertisement and I have no knowledge or allegiance to the product - just my observations.

According to compatibility table in that ebay listing, they don't. TDV6 (155kW) version only

So can some one please confirm whether either the Koya XJ-1 BF 18x8 or the STEEL WHEEL MODULAR 18" TERRAFIRMA TF152 definitely fit the Discover 4 2015 ( with larger front brake callipers ) ?

I really need a cheap affordable second spare wheel. Helppppppppp !

I'm sure Tombie will give us an update shortly but as I understood the advice in this thread - http://www.aulro.com/afvb/l319-discovery-3-4/221238-18-inch-lts-vs-load-rated-3.html - that wheel does not fit the larger brakes without modification. Tombie was (is?) working with the manufacturer to consider / make the tooling modification.

The website for the Koya wheel does mention some thing about free hub locating rings come with each wheel.

The Koya wheel project was put on the back burner as my time focus shifted.

The ONLY wheel easily available that will fit later big brake D4s is the Compomotive...

Hub rings fit on the Spigot to match the size of the wheel to centralise it to the hub. Nothing more.

A single 18 will fit the rear of a later D4.
All it means is that if a front went flat you'd need to shuffle rear to front, spare to rear.

Koya also do a 19" if you're sticking with 19s

I have 5 Compomotives already.
Yes, have thought of the idea of a cheap 18" LR wheel for the rear but guess just not keen on the idea of having to do wheel swaps if needed. Lazy like Garfield

Guys,
One of the guys in our group has contacted a supplier of the steel rim and they have assured us that the wheels will fit the 3L disco. We have also a started to negotiate a bulk order discount.

EDIT- Stay tuned guys, I have emailed another supplier. To confirm as I'm spooked by a statement I've just read and am concerned the original supplier is telling porkies.

Is there a thread to follow for this? Sounds good.

In the Ebay add,it said they were refurbished.
What are they making them out off I would ask,and the welding is it certified???
It could be that they ticked the wrong box when posting the add.Suspicious!!!!

Purely for interests sake, how much does for example a GOE 18" alloy rim weigh? (Yes I know I could have a search.)

12.3kg

12.3kg

So the steel wheel is F all heavier than an GOE alloy for a third the price?
Would need to check the offsets as I understand Gordon was working on an 18" steel wheel but could only achieve this with an outrageous (and illegal) offset.

Tombie

About half the price once shipped.
Then expect customs and duty on that for a set of 5.

Then add on the correct wheel nuts...

So will be around 2/3 of Compomotive wheels.

Offset is +45 so within tolerance. Assuming straight bolt up.

The guys organising the buy of these have got a landed price under the import duties threshold last I heard

Garfield

Its the GST that kills the price if total import is valued $1000 or more. Then add 10%

In the E Bay add in "item specifics" for Discovery 4 TD MY 15 it lists Rim Diameter as 19? :o
