I have a 2004, 2A model. I'm a bit stuck and would appreciate some help.

I needed to replace my top hose and a heater hose as they were rubbing. Bit on that later. But I decided to replace some other hoses while I was at it. I bought the heater expansion tank return hose and the heater return hose (plus some others).

Picture of it below, the bigger Y piece hose.

I also bought the heater return hose, as that had been rubbing on the rear engine lifting point.

However, my car seems to be different to the hoses and to Rave. On mine, the heater exp tank return hose is not a single hose. It is 3 hoses that meet at a T piece. Pictures below. A bit hard to see but it is at the bottom.

Now, this hose also goes direct to the heater pipe and not the fuel cooler as per Rave diagram. I have a Mac at home, so I have Rave on my PC at work. But I thought I printed the entire cooling section. So I think I am looking at the right one.

Rave has a shorter heater pipe going to fuel cooler, then from cooler to the heater expansion tank return hose. Yet mine by passes the fuel cooler altogether and goes straight from the heater to the expansion tank.

On my car the fuel cooler has a hose going from the top of the cooler, into another T piece where the bottom hose would otherwise meet the thermostat. Pictures are below.

So instead of the elbow shaped bottom hose, I have a T piece and two short hoses, and then the one coming from the fuel cooler.

So have I been given the wrong hoses? I bought them from LR place here in perth so easy enough to change.

Pictures of the hose coming from the top of the fuel cooler.

this has another piece with what I think is a breather screw.

My top hose was rubbing on my AC compressor and it had a slight weep on outlet housing.

Not sure if this corrosion was the cause or the effect of the leak. But either way, it is a PIA, as I didn't buy one of those. So I wont be able to drive it until I get that part.

Pictuer is after I scraped off most of the white stuff. It had such a build up it was above the barbed end. It has all pitted so I'm going to have to replace it.

thanks mate.

That was one website I didn't check. I couldn't find them anywhere else.

I'll check if Rovacraft have them, as I'm going to have to take the other hose back.

The corroded housing means I'm heading back there anyway.

thanks again.

Clint, didn't click when you called in but I have a box of most hoses having done an initial changeover at purchase 5 years ago, then subsequently swapped to silicone, and then scored a few more new TD5 hose bits when I bought Bessie. They are down at Beeliar/Spearwood, but you are welcome to check. I'll be going past in the morning (Sunday) so could bring them back up if interested.

Thanks Gavin

yeh if you have some, Ill buy them off you. But only if you dont need them. Iv'e got to go back to rova craft to get a housing and return the wrong hoses anyway.

Over about 8 hours today, I have managed to successfully change:

the oil cooler pipe (that was a bastard and took about 2hrs)
the heater return pipe;
half of the top hose, but that is mainly because I need a new outlet.

Although I did manage to change the power steering low pressure line.

I have the wrong expansion tank and heater pipes. But you will probably have the correct ones. I think I am missing one of the hoses coming off the thermostat and the fuel cooler feed hose ( the other one that goes in at very bottom of the radiator to the fuel cooler.)
