I picked up a Front Runner sump guard for my D3. It didn't come with the spaces so I made some to the specs on their website.
The website stated 12mm aluminium spacers for the rear and 2x 6mm rubber spacers per side for the front.
I just fitted solid 12mm aluminium spacers all round. Not sure why rubber spacers were spec' for the front.
I've attached images, is there supposed to be gaps at each side?
Plus it also the top edge of the guard touches and pushes on the plastic bumpe.
It just seems a very poor fit, if I had of paid $600+ for this so for I would of been very disappointed with the fitment.
Any thoughts?

I havent fitted one bit what if you used a single 6mm spacey each side at the front?
My assumption for the spec of rubber spacing would be the absorption of some shock load of you impacted something.

in theory yes reducing the spacers would reduce that gap but it currently rubs on the top edge (picture attached) meaning i should increase the spacers.
To add to that, the front bolts supplied with nyloc nuts are not long enough to catch the nyloc... suggesting yes the spacers are too big...
here's the fitment pdf

looks like all the images in the pdf are from a D4 too

Ahh ok. I was under the impression that front lip tucked in under the bumper, but after checking mine this morning i can see how that won't work easily.
And yeah the fitment instructions show a guard without the side wings, which looks like the D4 guard. That is annoying.
I can't find another picture of one fitted, but if it was mine I'd probably just bend the top lip out and then fit the rubber spacers. But you shouldn't have to do that (unless it's previously been damaged).
Hope you get it sorted to your liking.
