Apologies if this has been covered in a separate thread previously as I can't seem to search the forum properly on my phone.
Q1: can you run 2 mppt's on the same system if they are not programable ones? As I have one for my 24v panel on the roof of my tdi 110 hooked up to my aux batt. The other mppt is in my no.5 trailer as I have a "house" battery there for running a fan and wanted it to be able to "stand alone" so have a portable panel to set up for it when needed.
Probably easier to draw the circuit so will do that in a minute.
Q2: I'm having issues with my weaco fridge (old version CF-80) error code is flashing every 4 seconds, it's still cooling for now but compressor seems to be running all the time as will cut out then kick back in a few seconds later. From what I can find that is a low volt error but usually happens when voltage is anywhere from 12v and down. From what I can see waecos cut out at 10.2V but the newer ones can be set to desired voltage. It was always running fine over that sort of voltage in the past so I don't think it is that. I have 2 hardwired voltmeters for crank and aux and seems when the fridge goes to error they either go down to ridiculous levels (like 4V) but when checked when checked with multimeter they are battery's are fine and will display proper voltage when engine is started or other load is applied like turning on hf or cb radios. There is a redarc isolator between crank and aux batteries so I don't understand how this would occur, could it be an earth fault? Voltage is fine at the fridge and seems to be drawing around 2 to 3amps when I check it. Could it be an intermittent earth fault that could cause these symptoms? Or have I caused the fault wiring in the 2 mppt's? But will still get error code with Anderson plug to trailer disconnected....
I seem to have exhausted my very limited electric diagnostic ability now.
I'm up the cape at the moment with heaps of goodies in the fridge that I don't really want to waste. I tried to find someone who would work on waecos in Weipa but the one guy in town was away on 2 week break. Now up at Seisia and may try have a look if anyone works on them in bamiga if I can't find the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
