I watched bits and pieces of the Bathurst 1000 today and incredibly three local lads were participating in it, the Kelly brothers, and Cameron Waters.
We have had some outstanding motorsport champions come from our local area, Phil Crump, Leigh Adams (both solo speedway), John Hederics (Australian Safari both on a bike and in a vehicle).
There are a lot of other young blokes from here who have gone to the UK riding solo speedway, Justin Sedgemen, Jason Lyons, Cameron Woodward and then there is road racer Josh Waters.
There must be something special in the water of the old Murray River here.

Cheers, Mick.

Tried watching it, but the wind played havoc with the reception. Did get to see the last few laps. Looked to have been a good race with all the favorites either crashing out, not finishing for what ever reason or in one case getting a time penalty, which ended his chances for a win.
Cheers Hall

I enjoyed it, and I'm not a fanatic about taxi racing, but it was interesting and the coverage was pretty well done. Just when it looked like going boring some havoc broke out.

I watched the race from start to finish as I do every year.

First 90 laps were pretty boring. Up until this point there was not a safety car.

After this the action started. Good to see Whinge-cup get penalised.

Never saw any of it as it was an otherwise pretty busy day here. Don't even know who won it yet. ;)

But I'm sitting in front of the TV watching "Brock" at the moment. Brings memories of when Bathurst was a true production car race, and was actually worth going to, or watching on the idiot box. :D

NSW Police are investigating reports of an alleged reckless driving incident that occurred in the area of Mount Panorama in Bathurst today.

It is alleged that a vehicle was seen driving recklessly in the area, which saw two other vehicles forced off the road as a result. This caused significant damage to those vehicles, and to nearby property that the vehicles collided with.

The vehicle is described as being dark blue in colour, with distinctive red and yellow signage across the drivers side and passenger side doors, and with the number 88 located on the rear drivers side and passenger windows.

The driver of the vehicle has been described by many as a little bit whiny and a massive douche.

Any further information is to be reported to your mates down at the pub.
