I took the day off and I went fishing this morning at 3am and it was a little bit nippy , the dash temp said outside 2.5 degrees, but then a message bleeped and displayed 3 degrees, why would an alarm like that come up?

Hmm, but 2.5 degs is lower than 3 degrees and it was not mentioned.

As Graeme posted, anything below 3 degrees and you get a warning for the potential to have black ice on the road surface

I was driving home from Melbourne on Thurs nite - 16deg when we left , 10 kms from home the " snowflake " came on at it beeped ..... It was 4 deg

And cold !

mine beeps at 4, again at 2, 1 and 0 (and ever one below that) i use it for my own comfort when im camping in the high country, but its probably there to warn for ice :p

I heard that with some code you can change the display wording, you need to be a computer guru who understands code. Maybe you could get it re-coded to read LONG JOHN WEATHER
