Guys, i need some help cos when it comes to rims i'm lost :red: ... i want to fit some 16" rims instead of the 18"s to my wife's Santa fe but if i watch the compatibility here Hyundai Santa Fe 2007 - Wheel & Tire Sizes, PCD, Offset and Rims specs - Wheel-Size.com (http://www.wheel-size.com/size/hyundai/santa-fe/2007/) (second vehicle that Hyundai Santa Fe 2007 2.2 CRDi) it gives only those two 7j17 and 7j18 versions... i've been digging the web for hours to try to find some 16" alternative for those but it seems i'm too dumb for that or there is no 16" alternative which would be quite unbelievable for me  ... can anybody help me with this or explain like for a stupid how things are in this area ?

Thanks

From the information suppied is suspect your wife's car has bigger diameter brakes so the 16's may not fitt.
You may have remove a wheel and grab a tape measure out to confirm this.
The D2 has 16's so you could use the brake diameter on it aa a guide for size.
You could also try to slip a wheel from the D2 to the Santa Fe and while it won't bolt on you will soon know if it clears the brakes or not.

Thanks for that, i'm wondering though why here Refinished Hyundai Santa FE 2007 2009 16 inch Wheel Rim | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Refinished-Hyundai-Santa-Fe-2007-2009-16-inch-Wheel-Rim-/131895828074?fits=Make%3AHyundai%7CModel%3ASanta+F e&hash=item1eb59a9e6a:g:qagAAOSwhOdXn02K&vxp=mtr) they say that the advertised 16" rim fits ALL modells from 2007 to 2009 , is it possible that the americans dont even consider that the diesel 2.2crdi exists?

It's unlikely that the diesel was ever sold in the US so that would be a reasonable assumption.

You also need to consider clearance for the callipers too.
