Well it had to happen ... I've bought a 2002 L322 to replace my 1988 RRC.
I am immediately hitting the technology wall!
I need to fit a Trailer Brake Controller.
I have elected the Redarc TowPro Elite because I can fit it in the techo space on the right rear, and run a RJ45 network cable up to the front for the remote head.
I am guessing that if I pull enough inside trim and carpet up, I'll find a route inside the car for this cable ... am I right? need some advice and pointers to 'pulling dash' apart too ... where should I start?
Thanks in anticipation...

Pulling the dash apart is pretty easy, but you will need some torx bits to undo some screwsunder the dash panel. I don't think you will need to pull the dash pad off like I had to to fit a new head unit. You can easily feed wires along the door way floor trims they just unclip, run your wiring along the side and into the boot area. I installed a reverse camera and it was reasonably easy to get the wring though to the rear, these vehicles are pretty easy to work on and plastiuc bits don't brake like the cheaper models;) they seem a bit sturdier. The doorway trim panels are alloy not plastic and are held in by solid clips, pull them up and you will see how they clip on.
Cheers, Mario.
