As the title says, my compressor is very noisey. It has got steadily worse so that I can hear it when driving. I am used to it and it didn't register until a mate said his was almost silent. I could hardly hear his with my head under his car.
Is this something the overhaul kit will cure or is it yet another thing that's going to drain my bank account?
Cheers

An overhaul kit should solve the issue, plus replacing the inlet air filter behind the passenger side rear pillar light assembly.

That said you should be able to source a new compressor out of the UK for reasonable $ as with Brexit the pound has tanked.

And speaking from experience with a soft dash classic this is a problem best sorted asap.

Agree with the refurb kit recommendation and also if the compressor is running a lot then could be you have leaky bag(s). When were they last changed? This will wear out the compressor very quickly as it is not designed for a heavy duty cycle.

I changed the bags 6 months ago as they were leaking when i bought it. I've just stumbled across a FREE compressor, I pick it up the Saturday

SLS is good. VERY good ... but like all the other parts in the D2 it has a working life, then needs replacing/servicing/refurbishing ... due to either kms travelled or age in years ... or both. I'd still get a BPAndy rebuild kit and fit it. As said change the inlet filter as well. Your airsprings are new. Should then be easily good for 5 - 8yrs.
