I almost managed a ride behind this famous engine. Unfortunately tickets were sold out for the day I was available.

The 6029 was doing trips between Gosford and the Hawkesbury River last weekend. I did see it parked at Hawkesbury River as I headed in to Sydney on a boring electric commuter train on Sunday morning. It is an impressive engine.

I don't know how often the engine leaves Canberra, but steam buffs might do well to keep an eye on this site.

My kids loved the train going right past our house all weekend.. The train drivers regularly tooting the whistle..

Crack for 2 and 4 year old boys. I might have also enjoyed it... [emoji4]

We discovered it running from Wagga to Bomen when we were visiting our daughter there. We managed to get tickets, got a ride. It's a massive machine.
