Hi Guys,
I'm installing my Mulgo Ex-box and the wires that comes out the back of box underneath the seat, are too short to make their way into the Mulgo Box.
I can feed the other end of these wires from the Mulgo box under the car and join them up, but this would leave join exposed under the car?
Ive attached two images, one of the wires and the other of it joined under the car.
Is it safe to join it under the car, should I cover the join with anything? Or is there a way to get it inside the ex box?
Thanks heaps
Dan

I think I had a similar issue as you.
Just cut (solder or plug) lengthen the wires and cover with either cable conduit and cable tie it to some spot underneath. I think from memory that pink and orange wire you have in the pictures is for the rear door locks.

Also put some Heat reflective insulation on base of ex-box. If your installing for the Puma you will also find the wiring loom will be too tall for the install and you'll have to get some alum tubing to raise the wiring board to a height where the loom no longer strikes /rubs against the base of ex-box. Fiddly but no biggy.
Good Luck

Thanks guys. Finished the job yesterday. with heat reflection under the box.
Hardest part I found was feeding the extra wires thru the big grommet and then sealing it around the hole in the mulgo box.
Took me about a day in total to do the install. Very happy with the end result, But glad I wont have to do it again.
Thanks again

There are a few pics in my build thread, in ase you need ideas for mounting items.
I recommend running a good multicore from the Exbox to the dash, to futureproof your wiring.

Would appreciate some advice on which spec Ex Box to get.
The options for auxiliary electrics are:
12 way fuse block + USB & 12V sockets
6 way fuse block + USB & 12V sockets
None
My main goal is to raise the electrics up higher. I don't plan to get a fridge anytime soon, and am not sure what (if any) other electrical items I might install in future.
I do plan to put in a dual battery setup as a backup or standby, and also have a front/rear dashcam that has a mode which is triggered by movement when the car is parked and the engine off.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on which option I should go.

Bugger, I didn't know I had to make a decision....although mine is a custom size so not sure what's on offer.

I bought mine with the 12 way fuse block and sockets. I'm no longer using the fuse block (it broke when I installed it) nor the wiring that came with it.
The complete set gives you a quick and dirty solution to wiring in some extra circuits but if I were to purchase again I would just buy the bare box and fit it out myself. I've ended up doing that anyway so the extras have been a waste of money for me.
Cheers,
Jon

I'd go bare too, and then just mod as required.

Thanks for the tip.
I'm guessing you gents have some electrical knowledge though? I know absolutely nothing about it at all.

Yeah and it shows. Your Ex-box is very neat and one I used for inspiration when doing mine, which I still haven't finished.
Cheers,
Jon
