Hi Guys, new to this site, I have a 2003 V8 Disco 2 S. Its a lot of fun and a pain in the back side too but I do love the rumble of the V8.

I've been getting a wine in the bearing of the AC unit and was going to buy a new unit on Ebay but I'm unsure if the V8's and TD5 units are the same. Can anyone please assist?

Hi, the units are the same.... there is a slight difference between units made for japan and ROW so avoid a japanese one that's all

Thanks, is there anyway of knowing between ROW (don't know what that stands for) or the Japanese units?

Mine didn't come with a wine in the AC unit. Must have been a special dealer supplied item. Cheers

PS. A good drop?

Can you not replace the bearings?

Maybe you can find something similar in OZ : Land Rover DISCOVERY AC Compressor Clutch REPAIR KIT 2001 2002 2003 A/C - thechillman (http://www.acclutches.com/land-rover-discovery-ac-compressor-clutch-repair-kit-2001-2002-2003-a-c/) dont bother with those years cos it's irrelevant

They aren't that easy to fit... I think I have a post of how (not) to do it somewhere on here, I messed up from start to finish and ended up just buying a new unit from the UK.

Is the D2 one the same as the D1/RRC, cos I have one taken out of a 93 V8 RRC here in Perth that is going really cheap to clear. I was told that the D1 version would not fit a D2?

The D1 A/C compressor is completely different
