Hi all

I have traced the source of my annoying oil leak to the vacuum pump that hangs off the side of the block on the 300Tdi.

I see I can purchase either a Wabco or aftermarket. The current pump is about 7 years old and there seems to be talk of the quality of these units.

Is anyone using an aftermarket unit and has it been worth the risk?

Thanks

You could go electric, VE dunnydoor uses one.

I had a leaking vac pump on the Defer. Weaping from the end plate i think, was a while ago. It was attached by rivets or something similar. I drilled them out, to take bolts, sealed it with gasket goo and bolted it back together. Never leaked again.

Might be a cheap fix.
