Safety Devices 6 point External Roll Cage

Has anyone fitted one of these to a 4 door 110 defender? Mine is a 1995 model and being restored. My issue is that I'v just taken delivery of the cage and getting ready to install but the rear air-conditioning covering is right where the hoop support goes?

Any ideas?

Rear air-con?? In the way of an external cage.....I cannot quite picture the issue.

The dual air conditioning system I'm guessing you have is very rare, I have only ever seen one and that was in a 200tdi. If we are in fact talking about the cover that runs down the passenger side rear corner to the evaporator behind the passenger side rear wheel, perhaps you could run rubber or silicon hose from the floor to the vent unit with adapters either end?
