I am currently looking at buying a '99-'01 Disco, and would like to know peoples opinions on the factory SLS vs Polypolyair springs. I dont need the 7 seats, and would only be getting SLS to help with towing.

Main main question is are there reliability problems with the SLS? With the Polyair, you still keep you original springs (as I understand it), so if there is a problem with the bags, you are no worse of than standard. However, with SLS, it is electronically controlled, there is no option to add air from a seperate source if the pump fails, and if you loose the air, you are on the bump stops.

Have I got it right, or have I missed something? Or is it just something not to worry about? If I find a nice one with SLS I should buy it, or if I find a nice one without, I should buy it and add $400 woth of Polyair?

I've have a Range Rover with the Air Bellows and would tell you to go that way because the Air bags are made from Dunlop and are a very hardy product.

strong as and you can pump them up or down to what ya like.
They also improve the overall ride of the car and you can take corners way faster than normal  .
If your woman likes to go camping and you take the back seat out and put in a matress then pump up the Polyair and its all good 8O .

I have used polyairs in 3 Disco's and in the current Defender. They are the way to go.
