I am fiddling round with some tailgate mods (actually on a 110 but with lots of series bits) and want to fit gas struts.
I can see from the parts book that LR did fit struts - with the door end attached to a bracket on the hinge and the body end about 2/3 of the way down the sides. The disadvantage of this is that "those without mechanical sympathy" might use them as a grab-handle.
I have a blurry internet photo of a S3 with the body end somewhere near the roof/body join and the door end about 1/2 way down the door.
Can anyone offer me advice, or should I start drawing diagrams and re-invent the wheel?
