Misfueling device

I have a LR Discovery 4 2016. On the weekend my husband inadvertently put petrol into my Diesel car. I knew not to move it but it was a long drawn out process getting the car back to town. When I asked at the dealership why the misfueling device didn't work, I didn't get a satisfactory answer i.e. "Sometimes country fuel pumps have different nozzles" BP don't have different nozzles 80K out of town or anywhere else. Has anyone else had trouble with the misfueling device and have success in getting the dealership pay for the draining?

It doesn't always work depending on how far the nozzle is inserted or if the servo has used a Petrol dimensioned nozzle on the diesel line (happens)...

As for getting dealership to pay - you're joking right! You want the dealership to pay for your/your partners mistake?
