My RFSV has the standard high miler tyres on it. It is noisy as hell. Should i change the tyre type? it has 7 near new tyres on it so am debating what to do. I have had split rims for years on other vehicles and have not had problems. My question is
1 should i change the tyres and if so what to?
2 what tyrer would suit the split rims given i will be doing a fair bit of highway work?
3 if i have to go away from split rims what rims should i aim for?
Thanks for your advice!! ;)

the split rim is built to the standard LR rim size for the vehicle.

and Perentie landrover rim is good to go for weight and off set.

the Michillen xzl is a good choice but for generic all round use go the BFG 1t / at2 or if the money wont go that far the maxxis 980.

To add a slightly different option.
You can change the rims, I run Dynamic D 16x7 rims that allow me to
fit 235/85/r16 tyres. The rims have the correct offset so tyres this size don't scrub or catch at full lock or full articulation. You could squeeze 255s on there, but you'd be pushing the legal size of things with them poking out from the arch and 255's do scrub at full lock/articulation from what I have heard.

The tyres I chose are Hankook RF10's which I have found to be an excellent tyre. very quiet on the highway and normal roads and surprisingly large amount of grip off road as well.
