Just got back from 5 weeks in Tasmania. I am sure no one has ever told them about straight sections of road.

What I found was my 130 Puma steered around left hand bends with confidence however the same radius right hand bends she was not as precise and I had to concentrate much more closely.

I had the vehilce serviced before I went away and asked them to check bushes etc in the front end and they said all OK.

Any advice as to the reason would be appreciated

It's because Tassie is at the bottom of the world - RH turns go against the earths orbit, so its more accentuated. Like water down the plug hole.

Check that your tyre pressures are even. check that tread ware is even, especially on the front left. I just put new tyres on mine and all the vagaries are gone. A wheel alignment could be all that's needed.

New tyres and pressures are even so I am not sure this is the issue.

Thanks

Now it's time to get underneath and check all the steering components. If nothing is bent or loose, you might have a steering box problem. Hope not and unlikely I would think.

Theoretically turning right unloads the front right wheel,
which is less constrained by the panhard rod
which may indicate a bush problem in the right control arm? Or perhaps the right front bearing or swivel pre-load is lower and only shimmying when unloaded?

Either way Id be checking all suspension bushes and also having someone move the steering wheel left to right whilst observing steering ball joints and then move on to checking hub bearings & swivel hubs.

In the dark depths of my memories I remember having similar symptoms and it being one side swivel pre-load being out of whack compared with the other... just cant remember which side it was.
