The standard bonnet may not be appropriately reinforced for the spare tyre.
Alos what tyre do you plan to have on there ?
A 235/85 on %" rim fitted (just) but anything wider will restrict forward view, heavier will make bonnet VERY heavy to lift up.
I have the kit mounted to mine but no longer carry a spare there. You are welcome to have a look if you are down Redcliffe way some time.

go and have a look at vlads....and when vlad isnt looking......
quickly swap them over......!!
a better option would be to get a rear wheel carrier on the back chassis...
such as the bearmach ones....
the bonnets designed to carry the weight of the wheel were built stronger and also
had a stronger support rod to hold them open.....

Yes the bonnet stay is bloody heavy duty as is the clip that holds it in place when bonnet closed - a damn site harder to operate than the fancy new ones on the late model Fenders. But it does the job admirably.
I'd agree that option B (ie anything other than the bonnet mount) would be better in 99% of instances.
Just doesn;t look as cool.

My understanding is that when you buy the kit it comes with all the bits required to reinforce the bonnet and the heavy duty prop etc etc.
235/85s do fit but there is a risk of rubbing in my experiences. They work better with the 7.5r16 tyres.

Let us know how you go and what $$$ they expect, as it's something I want to do also (as well as the spare tyre carrier on the back, 2 spares are better than 1! 8) )
