Apparently the LRPV is nearing the end of it's life cycle in the Army!
Check this out.

I've ridden in one, and apart from parking issues and findong longer half shafts, they would make a great family transport.

not sure what the plan will be with the LRPV along with the rest of the 6x6 varients i.e IIMV etc, i reckon they will be around for at least another 5-10 years as most of them have been through some sort of a rebuild.
I was part of the bushmaster trials which started 96/97 and 6rar have only just received all of theres, nearly 10 years in the making. i not sure how long it took to implement the 110's
we crossloaded all our 6x6's a while ago except for the GMV and AMBO's, last week we lost our SRV to 4rar, no more fun on the beach with it, it was our workshop run around, DSFW and RECON grab it every now and than to use it in it proper role. we only have GS and FFR varients now

All good things have to come to an end though i suppose. I am sure they will be replaced with another top bit of kit. Matt

Operation Perentie was on in 1985
There was 110's ( 4 and 6 wheelers) , a jeep wangler, a mercedes 4x4 and a landcriuser. I remember seeing the vehicles come into our unit and the 110 was towing the jeep on a trailer (busted axles)..

Hi all,
I believe the RFT (request for tender) is nearly ready, then tender response and evaluation, then trials, then new Army cars!
No insider trading but LR will need to be cheap cheap cheap and have a really good product package to compete with the Japs, Seth Efricans, Krauts and Isralies!

I always love the fact that "he who is cheapest wins" (yes I know that's a generalization, but unless someone really screws up it's generally true).
Reminds me of the line from Armageddon (yes I actually watched that movie  ) - "Just think, we're sitting in 6 Billion $ worth of the most complicated and advanced equipment ever built, put together by the cheapest bidder" :?

Murphy's Laws on Combat Operations includes the gem:
Remember, your weapon was made by the lowest bidder. (Applies to all military hardware including vehicles)
Of course this preceded by such gems as:
Recoiless wepaons aren't,
Automatic Fire isn't,
Suppressive Fire won't.....but my all time favourite is:
If you are short on everything except the enemy, you're in a combat zone! https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

an enema seems a small price to pay for owning all those landies

G'day Pedro, just added 2 more Landies to the pile yesterday (S2A 109GS wrecking only, S3 109 4cyl Diesel, still gotta get S3 109 4cyl petrol) but it's too bloody hot and I'm still stuffed from yesterdays effort and I'm out of fuel after clocking almost 400k's to retrieve both L/r's x 2 trips, but you are right it would be cheap especially as the enema's these days are really small and best of all disposable like a lot of other things ie toyota's and etc's cheers dennis
