Some cheeky bugger taxed the towing hitch receiver of my '05 Sport.
The wife is upset as we have a trip planned with the camper trailer in a couple of weeks...
Does anyone out there between Sydney & Melbourne feel like renting their receiver setup to us for a week or so?
Happily pick it up after the 15th and recompense you for your help.
My number is 0431 629 529.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Mate,
Not as yet no... I found a place in Sydney that does a replacement of the entire towbar system but its expensive and we're trying to save $$ for the trip...
Any help appreciated :)

Give rover parts ar Ballarat a call , he has the complete unit , but may have just the hitch section .
Otherwise tr spares in Adelaide ? Is a wrecker who seems to have a few .
Have you got a pic of what is actually missing as the LR hitch section is locked to the vehicle .
If they have taken your hitch - the removable piece ,a Hayman Reece will fit .
But you will need a longer pin to retain .

I'd be happy to lend you ours but a/ we're in Melbourne and b/ I'm not 100% sure it's working properly? Feels secure in place, but I can't get it to lock...
Out of interest how did yours get nicked? I didn't think if they were working properly you could get the key out without locking them on?

Melbourne is great!
We're heading out from there with a rented camper trailer.
The girl's old X-trail would barely cope with it.
My assumption is that somewhere along the line, the previous owner has sold the part for a quick buck....
A few other bits were missing too when I bought it that I didn't realise at the time. I asked him, he said he didn't ever remember seeing them ?!
In any case I (we) really appreciate your help :)
Can you shoot me a quick text message on 0431 629 529 and we can tee up a time? I'll be in Melbourne from early next week, staying in Altona.

No worries, we can give it a shot at the very least.
