This Taswegian is scrapping his Series 2 Discovery on EBAY:

I (dis)liked this (mis)representation:

"They come with all nuts including locking nuts and will fit any Discovery or Range Rover and many other makes of 4WD."

Buyers beware.

Parts from all sides for sale as well, nicked maybe?

I suspect that he will not reply to "informed" questions. It takes a rat to smell a rat. Questions relating to the quantity of cupholders might get a response  . After all don't they fit all Land Rovers (particularly useful in Series 2 traybacks).

For a D2, more likely to be 16 x 7

I expressed interest in two items and received emailed answers:

The wheels: I indicated that I thought that they wouldn't fit a Series 1 Disco:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>
I have always understood all Discovery lug configurations to be the same from 92 models to 04. My wheels don't fit the brand new Landrover 3 and they won't fit Range Rover pre 87, but I haven't had the chance to fit mine on a earlier Disco to find out so its probably best to contact your LR dealership. Thanks

The bonnet re fit for series 1 Disco.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Yes it will fit, the outside dimensions, bolt holes etc, are the same, however it is a different shape to the 95 model, more raised at the front and honestly better looking, also the lettering is different, larger more modern looking. Hope this helps.

the description has been updated.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Have since found out these rims will only fit Series II Discoverys (99-04). They are 16X7 wide and have a 57mm offset. They will not fit Disco I or Defender as stated in an anwer to a question listed below. My apologies.
I sent this at 1043 today:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Gday Mate,
Just so you are aware, your rims are most definately 16x7, not 16x10. You can read this measurement on the outer of the rim. They will also only fit Discovery series 2 (99-04)and P38a Range Rovers specifically. They wont fit Disco 1's (which the asker has)or Disco3's, nor any other Range Rover apart from the P38a and they wont fit any of the Defenders or any other 4WD. The 5 stud diameter, nut hole and center hole is completely different to the regular Toyota/Nissan etc stud pattern.
and he replied with this at 1843 tonight:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Thanks slunnie, boy was I wrong. I'll update my info.
If it's not sus...... I reckon he thinks he's found a way to beat the Disco V8 depreciation woes...

Looking at what he has on there at the moment - before anyone bids up the price - he has $14,755 worth of bits - assuming he gets a few bids - that could easily grow over $20,000 ( specially when you count that the postage he has quoted for the first 4 items he put on is $368!!!!) 8O

V8 Discos are hard to sell at the moment - might be his solution

Bloody criminal thing to do with a perfectly good car though

There is a bidder on the rims, i emailed him and told him which vehicle they would fit.

But what about this rangie, he reckons it is more economical than a 1.6L Capri, it has an overdrive, but i highly doubt it would be that economical.

If a car is out of reg it ses so if a car is in reg it ses so .
if a car is sus it ses so 8O .

I think it is way sus.

had a friend once who bught a VW once and when I checked its rego on this site it came up still owned by someone else  and green instead of blue 8O  ,so i took the plates of and we could still read the old mumbers under them that the origanal plates had imprinted on the paint work  .
So as you see its a fools game if you don't check these things out  .

On closer inspection, the front and rear pics, both show different registrations, with the 9 and 5 transposed. I think perhaps i'd better send e-bay an e-mail, something smells bad with that one.

I've sent a reply.

This is what the rego search comes up with for the 2 different plates.

Nothing

Well guys this is the latest on the twit;
The wife sused him out by cecking his past history of selling and buying and it looks like he is running a chop shop 8O .
Within the last two months he has wrecked three perfectly good cars  .

3) A Holden Monaro. :? https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
The disco's bull bar went for $200 8O and most of the other stuff off all the cars have sold at ridiculous prices  .
Can nothing be done to stop this moron from killing Rovers and Holdens(my two favourite Makes) Where are the cops ? me and the little woman have found all this out and where he comes from in all of 10 min's  .
He is from Ulverstone up in the North of the state .

Who was the footballer who hired rental cars

caught, but after quite a few cars had gone?

LR don't have the car flagged as written off & the original owner is from Ulverstone.

Judging by the parts prices LR charge, maybe he's just realised the car is worth more in parts than complete.........

The last warranty claim was only in May 05 so if anyone wants a low Km water pump, he's your man  .
The SLS compressor is only a year old also.

G'day,
I just emailed the guy and asked why he is wrecking a perfectly good looking disco. He answered as follows. Perhaps he is dinkum, perhaps he has just over commited to get it and has no cash for a new chassis and is daunted by the prospect of fitting a new one?

HIS ANSWER.

Hi, I've bent the front ladder bar in the chassis by hitting a rock, this is a write off in repair terms. No insurance on vehicle, need to wreck to recover some money. Thanks
