Hi guys had a bit of a drama today with my steering. After driving up the highway for 45 mins today then arriving at the job I was about to attend was backing into the car park and the ball joint popped out of the drop arm leaving me with no steering. Just bloody glad it didnt happen 5mins earlier doing 110kmh up the highway. Anyway I know there is a replacement kit for the ball joint but because it actually pulled out does that mean I need a new drop arm as well?
Also where is the best place (price and quality) to get the replacement parts.
Many thanks

The arm probably does not need replacing, although you would need to check it, and there may be issues getting the worn seat out.
Any of the usual suppliers should be able to supply - I would use All Four x 4 probably, but there are plenty of others.
I am surprised that the ball was able to wear enough to drop out without the steering getting so bad that it needed fixing long before getting to that stage.

Side question. What steering damper is fitted?

Thanks John for your reply. I will look them up.
Thanks for your reply also Tombie. It is still the original dampner from 2008 and 160k on them. Any suggestions as to what type to replace it with. It is the very next thing on the list to replace.
