Puma 110 aircon condensate drain

Hi All,

I have rashly just bought a 2012 110 Defender to join my 2011 90 and 2016 Disco 4 (the theory is that one of the Defenders will go in time when I make up my mind which to keep).

Being super stinky hot here in QLD today the 110 aircon was working overtime and producing what seemed like gallons of condensate. However, it was being dumped straight onto the gearbox before wending its way over the mechanicals to the floor. The 90 doesn't do this and sends its condensate directly to the floor without going over the gearbox and chassis.

The 110 had the gearbox out for new seals recently and I suspect that the drain hose (if there is one) was tucked out the way and not put back afterwards. I have had the 90 since new.

Can someone tell me exactly where the condensate drain comes out and whether there is a drain hose (or if I could usefully install one) which would tidy this up.

I fill up the passenger footwell when the AC is on. So this is normal?

Any idea if we are looking at a drip tray with a hose fitting, or is it just a spout that goes straight to the floor? If the former, could fab it up to go out the firewall or out the top of the trans tunnel somehow.

I'm more concerned with rust long term, than the actual water.

in the tropics 9 times out of 10 if your floor is getting wet check your AC drain for blockages namely wasps nests. a coat hanger does the job.

*In a Defender 2007 on wards the drain for the a/c is directly above the gearbox.
*If you break your arm in multiple places you can reach up and around the gearbox and you can feel the rubber plug.
*It's actually very easy to remove it completely to clean any blockage, BUT you will find it very difficult to fit it back in.
*I clean/replace the rubber bung when I am doing anything with the gearbox out.

Just to add what I said the other day, here is a pic that I am sure I've posted one similar some time ago.
The other 2 drains shows in a earlier post are for the heater air box and are not the a/c drain.
