Hi folks

I noticed on the BBC news web page recently a story confirming that theft of Land Rover 90s and 110s in UK has massively increased since the end of production, to the extent that UK cops automatically stop any vehicle being driven at night.

I believe the utility Land Rover is now the most stolen vehicle in the UK.

My question is, does a similar problem exist in Australia? I live out bush in the Top End -where organised car theft wouldn't make much sense. But what about in our major cities down south?

Do Land Rovers get targeted by thieves and are you blokes taking special measures to protect, track or otherwise thief-proof your vehicles?

Cheers

I don't think the same problem exists here - most people like the toynissmo crowd don't want anything to do with them. :D

They aren't seen in the same light over here at all compared to the mother land.

As for securing my collection, there's always another vehicle in front of them at home which would need stealing first - and that's an X-trail so no sleep would be lost if that were to happen... :D

A few are stolen, but as homestar says, not the same as in the UK. Relatively few here know enough about them to find them easy to steal, and the market for them is so small that the chances of being caught are very high.

In the U.K. It's a parts market.. they steal them and strip and sell off the parts..

Another common theft Over there is to crack the Bonnet on a D4.. 30 seconds and the Xenon headlights are removed and they're off.
The lights are then sold on places like eBay.
