One Way Valve

Can anybody give me the name of this one way valve ? It's used to relieve the pressure before uncoupling the hose. Thank you

It's a 3/2 slide valve.
Exhausts through the holes which get partly covered as you slide the sleeve across.

Most pneumatic suppliers carry them. If you get stuck let me know the thread size and I'll let you have a price.

Dont use those 3/2 valves on anything that requires a constant supply pressure under varying flow rates, or if you do put a line regulator in somewhere down stream of it.

their ID causes issues with flow and pressure if you have long hoses with the hose acting like a minature tank or have something that needs a high flow rate.


for 90% of the stuff you'll use it for at home its a non issue but just in case...


OH also keep your eye out for the spring loaded one that has a clasp that sits between the valve and the QD. It effectively locks out the QD and prevents you from pressurising the line until you have the clasp in place to hold the 3/2 valve in the operate position. (which means you cant uncouple the hose while you have the line pressureised because until you remove the clasp you cant open the QD and when you remove the clasp the 3/2 valve opens to dump the air pressure).

Its a feature you may or may not want.
