Hi all,

Im heading to Bribie Island today and am wondering how low I should let my tyres down to? I've never gone lower than 25psi before but that's because I didn't have an air compressor before (which I do now). I've just got the OEM 19s with HP AllWeathers. I was thinking about putting them down to 18psi, thoughts?

Also, I can't seem to figure out to manually engage the center diff-lock!? I see on the '4x4 Info' screen that it's almost always unlocked. is this completely automated or can I lock it myself?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Oh Btw its a 2012 3.0L D4.

25psi will be fine for most of it but the beach entry /exits will be very soft.
I would lower to 18 for the really soft stuff. Just be prepared to go lower than that if it is really powdery and churned up.

The centre diff is fully automated with no driver input required or possible.

Cheers,

I do most sand on 25 in my D3 on 18s but my brother has a D4 on 19s and he bogs down regularly at 25 in his so go 18 or even 16 if it's soft.

Given the time of day this is probably too late but definitely remember to turn off DSC (dynamic stability control).. and turn it off again every time you start the car!!

I usually go down to 15-18psi and your car will cruise through it, in rare circumstances you can go lower if needed.

Low range and manual shift if climbing dunes

Yes,sand mode,DSC off, tyres on around 18,momentum is your friend, off road height in the soft stuff.

As said,DSC resets every time the vehicle is turned off,you have to remember to turn it on at every engine restart.

If you don't you will get bogged for sure, don't ask me how I know:mad::mad:

We spent hours digging out a badly bogged D4 at Moreton island,on the eastern beach, with the tide coming up a while ago, just on dusk.No one came along,so we were on our own.Very lucky to get out.....

All because someone forgot to turn off the DSC:angel::mad:
