Wheels tilting out on off-road height (with GOE Rods)

This only happens with the rear wheels but it seems very strange. With the GOE 3-way rods on the highest setting and the car in off-road height, the rear wheels tilted out a little. This wasn't really an issue since I was in sand but I didn't like the look of it at all! Over a longer period of time it would obviously ruin the tyres. Does this happen to anyone else?

One thought I had is that with a full load in the back (which I didn't have yesterday) maybe it would even out. I'd love to know if you guys with the GOE rods or LLAMS have had the same experience.

I know the photo looks like the car is on a sideways tilt but it wasn't.

That is just a geometry issue, as these vehicles weren't designed to be at that height for long periods it is just how they are.

Very exxy to try and solve too. You will basically have to make some new control arms of different lengths...😮😮😮.

Looks normal. That height is equivalent to emergency extended, which is getting close to maximum extension.
The wheel travels in a slight arc and this is more pronounced at the extents of travel.

You shouldn't need to use Rods High (or Llams High) + Factory Offroad very often.
Only for recovery from bogged situations or getting over high obstacles such as rock steps.

For driving on the typical beach or dune, Factory Normal + Rods High is enough.
This is equivalent to Factory Offroad but without speed restrictions.

Thanks for the info, yer I shouldnt need the car at this height often.

The tyre pressures were good! 18 all round made it a breeze. It didn't even look like getting stuck. Also I didn't try turning off DSC.... Looks like I'll have to take another trip out there :p

Hmm I'd be turning DSC off everytime even if you don't think it's too boggy. You're most likely over working the cars systems for no reason. Other than a higher risk of getting bogged.

The only time that I have EVER looked like getting stuck in the D4 was at Coffin Bay in SA when I forgot to turn DSC off again after I had been stopped for a while fishing. I had turned DSC off on the way in to the fishing spot, but forgot that it turns itself back on again if you stop and re-start the engine. :(
