Gotta get a new set, going to go back to 18's.
Anyone used these guys?
They seem very cheap for these.
I try to use the local guys, but they can't get anywhere near these prices.

Why?
Just interested as i haven't fully decided on size.
I don't really want to go over size,65 profile is about 26mm larger.,actually around 37mm larger than OEM,depending on tyre brand....any rubbing issues?
I suppose sidewall is around half an inch taller....than 60 profile
In KO2 265/65/18 there are actually two load ratings,i would stick to the higher one,for a few $$,i wouldn't touch the lower one.

That size was always a lot cheaper than the 265/60/18,much more common.
There are also two load ratings in this size, which one,as the prices are different?
Which retailer?

Good load rating.
Why the change to 18s scarry?
Just for a change..i like the look of the 18 rims better than the 17's.
The only reason i went to the 17's was there were no LT rated tyres in the 18" that were not oversized when i bought the vehicle.
I have the new 18" rims sitting under the house taking up space, will eventually sell the 17's i suppose.

I have 265/60,thinking next set going to 265/65.Anything bigger may be overkill, yet to decide.
Slightly better sidewall height in 65,speedo will be spot on,more common size than I have.

I have no idea what load rating mine are, what are the options?
On eBay there is a seller who is selling 265/60/18 and 265/65/18 for the same price of $349 (or $370 fitted in sydney). I bought mine from St George tyres in Arncliffe for $350 fitted, the cheapest I could find on the north side was $420!
There is a very minor rub when on full lock, in reverse and I think I need a slope of sorts.. hardly anything i would worry about but it would stop me going any bigger.

Load rating is written on the side of the tyre

They are cheaper because they are direct imports from the USA (probably Tire Rack) not from the Australian importer(BFG)

Baz, would that mean any difference in quality? Or just same tyre from different source?
That is a substantial saving to what I paid via a normal Jax retail outlet in Brisbane.
Cheers,
Scott

This morning I noticed that with my new tyres the roof rack clipped (only just) the height chains when entering an underground car park which I enter every day, I have never hit it before with either my 18" or 20" wheels on.

No I don't think so Scott, more a warranty thing, as it will be the shop supplying the warranty, not B.F.Goodrich, in my opinion not a big deal, most tyre warranties aren't worth the paper they are printed on anyway.
EDIT; the other thing is they may be old stock and they're waiting on a new batch.

i spoke to Jax at the time of getting the quotes but when I questioned him on the price difference he just said it's all about the quantity they sell, he just can't get those prices.
If it was $20 I wouldn't have minded but for $70 extra per corner that's hard to justify.

I ended up getting them from the guy i usually go to here, same price.
I prefer to use the local guy, have bought a good few sets from him over the years, and as Baz has said, easier if any issues, and helps the local businesses.
His come from BFG Aus,he actually ordered another 4 from them while i was there.
Apparently BFG have a special on some sizes at the moment.
The stock can't be that old as they haven't been available in Aus for very long....
The prices on this size have definitely dropped over the last few months, the 17's i had before are only slightly more than what i paid 5yrs ago.

to these,

apologise for the phone pic, seems it wants to stay side on no matter what i do.[bigsad]
Oh,and a new set of mudflats.
With the way work is i didn't have time to make some custom flaps, which is what i needed to do.
These are genuine, from local stealer, which worked out very close to any other prices for genuine styled anywhere, apart from cheap chinese ones which i didn't want, and may not have fitted properly. The cheap ones often say fits D3/4 which is incorrect as the rears are different.
