View Full Version : proposed thread name change
catch-22

I'd like to propose a name change so it better reflects LR naming. The All-New Discovery is not really called the Discovery 5. Sure, it's the 5th generation, but it's not the D5, and I think the subforum name should be named accordingly.
I know I'll be calling mine the All-New Discovery :)

Won't that name become redundant when the next (Disco 6) model comes out? ;)

LR often do that. When the P38 came out, it was officially 'New Range Rover' & the RRC stayed 'Range Rover'. Of course it had to change when the LM/L322 came out.
In fact, I'd never come across it being called the P38 until I joined here around 2005. Being from dealerland, it was always the LP Range Rover. Same with the L322; it's an LM Range Rover to me.

At that point we can change it to the old obsolete discovery [thumbsupbig]

That because, for at least 12 months, both models were sold side by side, so some distinction had to be made.
Anyway we all know a soft dash LSE is superior to a P38 anway....
