OK, call eccentric, but i got sick and tired of the crappy taste of the water from the CTs water tank, so in it went a water filter, it was pulled out of the previous house we lived in and works really well, taste just like home.

It's a double one with the 2 filters for germs, cleaning and taste.

I'll put some pix up soon https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Thats a bloody good idea, given some of the places that you have to fill up from 8O

Suprised some of the flasher CT's dont have them as standard or even an option

Good stuff inc they do work well.

The filter was really easy to fit 1/2 an hour bascilly just interupt to the tap, only thing is the water will run a little after you turn the tap off.

G'day Baz,

Excellant idea... I was crawling around under my trailer today... looking at the water tank plumbing etc - and considering whether I might pinch you idea... 8)

I assume that to push water through those filters you need a pump with a bit of pressure. I was going to chat to the guys at the local caravan shop some time this week... but wondered what sort of pump you are using.

I currently just have the old hand pump type caravan tap.... but the idea of being able to filter that crap tank water taste has got me thinging seriously of setting up the whole plumbing thing again...

Cheers, Mark

I have a hand pump as well and a 12v pump, it's a Shurflo 60psi same pump thats in the Ultimate camper, they are around the $200 mark depending on where you get them, a good plumbing wholesaler would be the cheapest or the 12v shop, aka All about 12volt here in Sydney.

The best thing about the Shurflo is if you run your tank dry it won't damage the pump.

SHURFLO 8000 SERIES PUMPS

The Shurflo 8000 series is ideal for the toughest industrial applications requiring high pressure with flow rates up to 1.8 GPM (6.8 L/min) with low amp draw. Available with valving in a wide variety of elastomers, the 8000 series can accommodate a broad spectrum of chemical products. Count on the compact 8000 and the complete line of Shurflo pumps for long life, unmatched reliability and trouble -free performance.

Thanks Baz,

I'm still deciding if I'lm going to do it yet.. or put the money into other things and keep this one as a "one day" project.

But I have to say it is one of the better add on ideas I have seen for a camper....

As Hiline said - that Camper of yours looks pretty flash....

Cheers, Mark

No prob, it's not really, i've just added some creature comforts to make longer stays a bit more comfortable, it's still only a basic soft floor camper.
