Does the 3.6 TdV8 get a lot of benefit from a bigger exhaust and if so what size ? I have a mate who is getting a tow/touring re-map done and is undecided about the exhaust, any ideas. I haven't seen much info on L322 exhausts and I couldn't give him any info except what's said in ads.

Depends who you believe! I'd be interested to know too, am about to get mine remapped (though in an L320 RRS). I do worry about exhaust temps etc.

I'm thinking about it too. Who are you going with?

Laurie I'm pretty sure CSChris dad a remap and exhaust done by Roo Systems.

Gents, had a remap done at Roo with twin 3 inch exhaust about three years ago on a 4.4SDV8 and very happy; gained about 40kw and 150nm per before and after Dyno - the maps have been posted in this forum previously if you search. Recommended - but pricey!!!

Thanks Chris
I saw your results, [biggrin]but as far as I recall; your the only member here that's had a bigger exhaust fitted, and that was to a 4.4 TdV8 not a 3.6. The only reason I bring that up is the different setups on the 2 engines in how the turbos work and the influence of back pressure on each. Given the amount of both variants of the TdV8 around, you would think there would be a lot more exhaust mods done ? Or did LR get close on this ? I'll ring Roo Systems today and ask if they have any dyno results , for just the exhaust mods and no re-map and I'll post the reply .

I spoke to Roo Systems this morning, they recommend the re-map only for most drivers ! unless your going for all out power with the TdV8 3.6 The gains compared to most other vehicles is small considering a price tag of $3000 for the exhaust. The R/R system is better than most expected [bigwhistle]

Nice to know! Peter from superchips just read my car, will work the file and do the flash tomorrow. He assures me it's a "conservative" tune - extra low/mid range torque, driveability etc. Fingers crossed...

No Pete [bigsad] A guy at work has a TdV8 Sport and was asking the question. Always on the look out for a good bargain though !

A guy was getting his 200 series fitted with a 4" system and a roo chip at work a few months ago. We had it tested before and after on a dyno and it was chalk and cheese. Driveability would've been massively improved from stock.

Mine is still settling in post-remap and I haven't driven too far but it feels very different under the foot. More responsive off the mark and very willing rolling acceleration. Can't make much of the economy figures yet.

Don't think you'll be disappointed. I had my TDV8 remapped with Superchips (Bluefin) about 18 months ago. Really good pickup. Overall fuel economy is 10.4 ltrs/100kms. Really happy with it. Didn't do anything with the exhaust system ... for me it doesn't need it[smilebigeye]

I had the rear muffler (only muffler) cut off my Vogue and a couple of tail pipes fitted. No idea what it has done for power or economy, but I like the noise :burnrubber:.

You're right Steve, the car's running a treat. Smooth, relaxed and responsive town driving, wicked rolling acceleration and on my first decent freeway run - Melbourne to Warragul return - the economy was improved from low 11s per hundred to 9.3/100 km on the trip computer (and mine seems pretty accurate). Pretty amazing stuff. I'm a little scared it'll push the gearbox over the edge!!

In regards to the 6HP26 auto what do people think is a safe torque input level ? given most re-maps allow you vary the standard output from 640 Nm to 800 Nm. Economy tunes are mainly around the 715Nm+ mark and most tunes are between these two figures.
Recommended factory limits for this auto is 640Nm. [bigwhistle]
