So a bit of a weird one, a few times now my EAS compressor has kept running when the car is turned off, and even locked.
Latest time it happened, I parked down the street, compressor kept running, so unplugged the big main loom (which has become my method of shutting it off in a hurry). Came back to car 10 mins later, plugged it back in and it wasn't running - all good so I left it plugged in. 5 mins down the road the car automatically goes into "extended" mode, but kept rising! The extended light started flashing as I'm guessing the car was trying to get back DOWN to "extended" Quickly pulled over and unplugged big loom.
Plugged nanocom in, and bags had 40psi more than "extended" mode in them :blink::blink:
Now nothing I did with nanocom allowed me to get the air out, tried opening/closing valves, emptying rear, emptying front etc etc.. Nothing! It said operation completed but the car stayed at monster truck height.
Tried locking/unlocking car, turning it off (seeing if it would self level lower) nothing! Had to wait about 15mins, plugged compressor back in and she was all fine again. As soon as this happened it self levelled to "highway" mode which is what I had it set on before this all happened.
Unsure if related, but my main key remote stopped working quite a long time ago, and have been unlocking it in the door. Every now and then the alarm goes off, and have to disable it with the nanocom as car says "Engine Disabled press remote" which I cant do. There never seems to be settings in the Nanocom, even my EKA that I set. I have to set a new one before it will let me disable immobiliser.
Also twice in the last 6 months I've gone to use the car and the battery has been dead flat - like dead dead. I know dodgy batteries aren't great for the P38 but I can't afford to replace it at the moment - it seems fine at the moment and its less than a year old. Also noting it was in the location it is normally parked in so I don't think anything external is waking up the BECM
I've finally had some time to play today and the first thing I did was redo earth points. Took each one in the engine bay off, sanded clean and re attached. (All except the one under the scuttle plate below wiper motor).
I'm thinking the EAS delay turn off timer could be the culprit for the dead battery, so I'm unplugging it nightly until I get another one. Hasn't been dead flat since.
I have also swapped the compressor relay with another to see if that fixes the compressor running constantly.
Has anyone had anything like this happen before? I'm thinking next thing if the relay is fine is valve block driver..
Dan
PS. I managed to get the key to resync with the "hold lock button in the door" method.. Wish I had've done this ages ago! :wallbash:
