See my thread in the SOS section if you can help out. I need to be back on the road wensday so I can be home Thursday and back to work Friday. Left rear wheel bearing has packed it in - seemed to go very suddenly as I noticed something wasn't right when I hooked my camper trailer on this morning. Had all day not thinking about it watching the kids play sport. Attempt to head home and something defiantly wasn't right. Noise from left rear so either wheel bearing or handbrake. Jack up and the wheels moving all over the place - bugger. I so hate having so little time to organise repairs

Just adding to this, who else has had rear wheel bearing (or even front too) failures and at what km? I've had my right rear at 200000km and now the left rear at 240000. Just wondering if it's something worth doing as a preventive thing rather than waiting for them to fail.

I would always replace them in pairs myself. If one rear has failed it is odds on that the other won't be far behind, as you have found.

Normally i would too, however once again when the last one went i was pressed for time so only got the one done.
