G'day all, I've just bought an old machine vice in Brookvale and now need to get it home to Drouin, if anyone is able to help out even to pick up & hold for a bit it would be much appreciated. Big old shaper vice that weighs about 40kg, can be dismantled into more manageable pieces but the main body will still be pretty heavy. Been looking for this for over a year so prepared to drive to pick it up if I have to but obviously if the good old AULRO network can assist I'll be stoked.

If someone can get it to Corowa (Military Swim in event) next weekend, we can bring from there Pete.

How big are we talking?
I work near Brookvale and can store it for a short time in Mosman depending upon how big it is!
If i can help let me know,

Wow that was quick thank you both. It's about 250mm wide by probably 350 long and maybe 120 or so high. It's at a business address open 7:30 to 5 mon-fri. Tim, I'll PM you, pickup and hold would be a great start.
Thanks again.

Another option would be to get it to Melrose if someone from Sydney's going, and it could be bought back from there.

That's less than a square foot, storage shouldn't be an issue if you get stuck. I am going to Thredbo last weekend of March, but that's to ride a mountain bike so somewhat weather dependent. I can get it to there if that helps. Obviously will be leaving back from Sydney that weekend. Unfortunately, I am stacked most weekends til then and live in Wolli Creek so it would help if someone can get it to me.

Daniel has offered to bring it to Melbourne if someone can get it to him in Eastlakes or Peakhurst by Friday afternoon; that would be fantastic but I doubt that will be possible at such short notice.
Tim, I'll message you again, if you can pick it up that would be a very encouraging start. I'll then get it down here by hook or by crook.

At Daniel's suggestion I got a courier quote for this vice and I can get it collected from the seller's premises and delivered to a depot just up the road from where I work, for under $50. It would be more than that in time, fuel and back pain for you guys to do it for me so I have decided to let the professionals do it. Probably have to weld the shattered cast iron fragments back together when it arrives but I insured the trip as well. Thanks again for all the offers.
