I found the differential lock chamber unserviceable , looking in e bay they want 360 , going onto paddock spares England , they have no pictures to see if you are getting the right part but range in the 120 pond range .We do most people get them from?

If you're not in a hurry UK. Otherwise fork out and get one locally. The vacuum cylinder has a neoprene rubber diaphragm and is prone to cracking/rupturing over time mainly from underuse. Engage the CDL every now and then to give it a work out BUT only on offroad or soft surfaces.
Have you checked that it's actually the cylinder, as sometimes the switch is the culprit. Jack up a front wheel (chock first of course) and engage/disengage the switch and see what happens. If nothing then pull both lines off the cylinder and attach a length of same size tubing to each tube nipple on the cylinder and suck one at a time. The front one engages it and the rear disengages. If it works there by sucking the problem is the switch in the dash.

Yes I did suck both inputs and it goes straight through , I am new to these things , I jacked up the car and with it in neutral ,I cannot turn any wheel if any wheel is on the ground , if I put all 4 wheels in the air ,I can turn a wheel .If i run the engine engage a gear all 4 wheels turn and seem to have some form of drive , if I put my foot against the tyre there is resistance ,although the front pair seem to be turning at a slower rate ???? very strange .

If it sucks straight through it indicates the diaphragm is stuffed. The last bit is because of the centre diff action in unlocked mode.
