Please can you point me in the direction of the member that has been fabricating disco4 tree/rock slides for some of you? All I remember is he owns a metal fabriction business and has done some for people on the site.
Thanks.

Hi there,
There are 3 options locally. Much info in these threads:
A question on rocksliders (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/212837-question-rocksliders-4.html)
Just got my APT sliders installed (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/219251-just-got-my-apt-sliders-installed-2.html)
These are not necessarily current prices and both GOE and APT now have extra options with infill panels / plate under, but as a guide.
APT - Ben - Brisbane - $920 plus postage ($110 to Sydney)
GOE - Gordon - Perth - $1100 plus postage ($62 to Sydney)
Metfit - Brad - Brisbane - $600 plus postage ($80 to Sydney)

If you are going to use them as rock sliders, go steel, the alloys ones cave in pretty easy as we found out on a trip recently

If you go with the steel APT sliders from Ben, you may want to consider getting the optional tread plate on them ( for additional cost ). Helps to use sliders as steps as well I find it stops/deflects some stones from flicking up on to doors and wheel arches.

Fitted mine on Sunday! APT ones...
New ones come standard with a full underside plate. So i didn't bother with the tread plates.
Love how easy they are to fit!
Think it took less than 2 hours without a hoist. 2 person job to pin them though.

I quite liked the look of them but I agree, pricey. I'd make an offer and see what comes of it if you liked them

I'm not 100% sure about the GOE's.. but Brads and the APT ones wrap a nice thick steel plate over the entire sill following the profile of the car..... I'd have no hesitation sitting mine on a rock with 2 wheels off the ground.
That looks like it just bolts on and sticks out from the profile of thee vehicle... maybe it's just the photos... They actually look like they hang down and reduces your clearance.. none of the others do that. I'd definitely want to take a close look how they attach to the vehicle before I even contemplated it... and at $100 more than Gordon's Alloy ones.... he's dreaming.

Not to mention they're coated in Line X and Line X don't recommend to paint sliders in their paint due to incorrect application.
