What sort of options or brands should I look at? Suspension is almost stock.... original springs but I have put helper airbags in the rear if that matters?

We do go off-road but I'm not after anything special or super high performance - just something I can put in and not think about it again.

My basic understanding at this point is there are many different types...gas/foam/oil/something....I haven't the foggiest what I should get at this point. Help?

Length I assume I will stick to original stock length. Happy to be corrected.

What other features do I need to consider?

Oh yeah, I had a thought - I imagine there's a lot of people upgrade soon after getting a new Defender. Would OE Puma ones be suitable if someone wants to sell their barely used ones?

I've been running Delphi DeCarbon shocks on mine for the last 5 years/70K kms after JC recommended them to me.
Can't compare them to other shocks as I haven't run any, but they've seen a few decent rounds of corrugations, Simpson and Cape trips and never shown any sign of fade.
Price was pretty reasonable direct from the UK, just had to choose the supplier carefully as some wouldn't ship due to their courier not taking gas shocks.
Mine are a +2", but they come in standard length too.
