LAND ROVER SERIES 2A 1968 MODEL Snowy Mountains Hydro - Rare and collectible (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/marketplace-alerts/247068-land-rover-series-2a-1968-model-snowy-mountains-hydro-rare-collectible.html)

Just thought I'd repost this in the history thread for future reference.
Looks like a nice example of a historical vehicle, if it's genuine.
The details given about the vehicle in the ad. are also interesting.

The comment in the ad about 250 Landys for the Snowy Mountains scheme has to be wrong - I thought it was several thousand, plus others for forestry, national parks, police etc.

Yep, his counting is out by about an order of magnitude....

Do you know the correct total?

Ok, his counting was out by just over half an order of magnitude. From a quick check on an earlier thread, it looks like there were 1300+ Land Rovers used amongst all the companies involved in the project. You will need to talk to some of the more learned amongst us for a definitive number. See below.

I know that SMA series 1s are attractive to collectors but does the same apply to series 2s.
