Mechanical rebuilds in Perth

Hi all,

I am early in the process of restoring a 54 86" and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for who I might get some rebuilds done by. Presumably there are some people locally who have experience and interest in these vehicles and therefore do a good job and know where to get what they need.

I am thinking mainly of the refurbishment of major mechanical components, ie engine, gearbox, transfer case and diffs as I think at least some of these are best handled by professionals, preferably with an interest in the early models.

Any pointers gladly accepted.

Hi Doug,

I had my S3 engine done by EMS in Midland, they seemed to be happy to tackle older engines, and not all about "it's gotta be a V8 etc".

For the Diffs and Gearbox/Transfer I can't recommend Max DeBurgh highly enough, he's in Maylands, 08 9272 6202. He'd only just done a S1 gearbox and diffs for, I believe, vehicle number 13.
