It appears the canvas on our slide-on camper has stretched over time, and it's allowing water to pool. Is there any method for shrinking it back to size?

Are you sure the problem is caused by stretched canvas?
I wonder if it might actually be caused by the fact that the aluminium roof supports have bowed in a bit. That seems to happen over time as you pull on the bars to fold the camper.
One of mine had bowed down a bit and with a bit of fiddling I managed to create a slight bow the other way.

I have the same problem on the tilt of my 101 - it's stretched over the roof. The hoops haven't sagged or anything but it too pools water now and flaps around like crazy when driving. The canvas is pulled down tight on the sides and back, it's just the roof that seems to have stretched.

I was going to ask the same question myself this weekend.

I reckon it will be canvas off and a small pleat sewn in......

Can you extend the poles??

Generally the canvas shrinks over time - it can appear to stretch when it is past its use by date and the fibres have started to breakdown due to the UV.

Gav - I had the same issue in my 101 - the canvas overall had shrunk but the top started to sag due to UV damage, then the little holes began to appear and from there the canvas went downhill real fast.

So canvas in good condition should if anything shrink a bit but when it is really old the opposite may appear to happen.

Unfortunately I suspect you're right on the money Garry. :)

A new custom tilt is in the wings but I'll get the carport finished first so this one has a chance of surviving longer.
